Claire Fisher founded Fisher Associates as a Sole Proprietorship in 1984. Under Claire’s leadership, the Company has grown to a consulting firm that employs more than 120 employees in five offices in two states. The firm’s growth from an employee count of one is a result of our philosophy of responsiveness, accessibility, and attentiveness.
With a B.S. from Syracuse University, Claire began a journey down the Civil Engineering path in 1977 with consulting engineering firm Erdman Anthony. With the encouragement of then EA President Alan Blake, Claire left the company and started Fisher Associates out of her house in 1984, working mostly for private developers on site development and environmental projects.
In 1990, she made her first major, professional hire, Robert Goossen, P.E., Fisher’s current CFO and former CEO and President, and began expanding Fisher’s capabilities, adding highway, bridge, traffic and survey services and expanding into the energy sector to work with wind developers and natural gas customers.
Today, Fisher Associates is recognized as a leading engineering consultant in the eastern part of the nation, providing innovative solutions to the energy, land development and transportation market sectors.
