    Environmental Technician – Rochester, NY

     

    Environmental professional needed to conduct various environmental investigations including environmental monitoring of construction sites, asbestos/lead/mold investigations, Phase 1 ESA investigations, and studies related to civil works projects for transportation, commercial, and institutional clients.  This position may offer opportunities to participate in other environmental studies including wetland delineations.  The position requires working with internal design teams, regulatory agencies, private clients, and the public in order to maintain favorable working relationships with clients and implement client-focused service measures.

    Wetland Scientist – Canonsburg, PA

     

    Fisher Associates is seeking a motivated, self-starting individual with 5+ years’ experience conducting wetland delineations to fill a Wetland Scientist position in our fast growing company.  The position may be located in our Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY or Canonsburg (Pittsburgh), PA offices. Candidate will be expected to perform delineations independently as well as lead and manage larger field efforts and technical staff and produce high-level reports and documentation in support of permitting efforts for a variety of public and private sector clients.  Experience with a broad range of projects is preferred to support Fisher’s energy, land development and transportation assignments.  Experience with mitigation design and planning, wetland and stream restoration projects, and conducting plant/wildlife habitat surveys is desired but not required.

     

    Candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, demonstrated experience managing field staff, solid technical writing/editing abilities, good interpersonal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent planning and organization skills, commitment to quality in both work processes and products, and willingness to assume new roles.  The position includes frequent field work and overnight travel, primarily in NY, PA, OH and WV. Salary is commensurate with experience level.

     

    All candidates require:

    • B.S. in Environmental Science , Biology, or related field required, M.S. preferred
    • 5+ years conducting wetland delineations.
    • Experience performing wetland delineations, leading and managing field teams and preparing permit applications in accordance with USACE and State (i.e., PA, NY, OH, WV) regulatory requirements
    • Ability to work flexible schedules and overnight travel
    • Candidates with professional certification(s) a plus
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Experience with Trimble GPS
