Fisher Associates was sub-contracted to provide surveying measurement services for flood hazard mitigation along 80 miles of the Susquehanna River , PA The entire project involved the collection of survey data for five dams, 20 bridges, and 164 natural sections. To complete the work, Fisher Associates established horizontal and vertical control using a combination of traditional and Global Positioning Survey techniques.
GPS was initiated using Base-Rover RTK and the New York State Department of Transportation Continually Operating Reference Stations (CORS). Deliverables for the project included ASCII data for each cross section, a detailed sketch of field efforts, photographs for each section, and a final Control Report.
