MCC Roundabout Evaluation

The project involved a feasibility study for a roundabout installation at Monroe Community College's main entrance. Fisher Associates analyzed the roundabout impact at the Main Entrance, the internal Ring Road, and the signalized Main Entrance and East Henrietta Road (Route 15A) intersection. The roundabout, if built, would be located relatively close to the main access to MCC off of Route 15A; a signal controlled intersection. Queuing from this intersection into the roundabout was a significant concern since the two intersections were only 150' to 200' apart. Based on our studies, it was determined that the roundabout would not improve traffic flow and alternate mitigation was pursued.
