Maple Road Traffic Study and Signal Optimization

For this Erie County project, Fisher Associates conducted extensive traffic evaluations to maximize the capacity of the heavily traveled commercial corridor at Maple Road utilizing the Transportation System Management technique of signal optimization & coordination. We worked closely with the Erie County DPW to provide highway traffic data collection, capacity analyses, and safety analysis to develop mitigation such as signal timings, phasings, and lane geometry. Traffic simulations were utilized at public meetings to evaluate potential traffic impacts and facilitate the public participation process. Traffic capacity improvements were documented to help the Owner secure additional Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funding.
