City of Ithaca Green Street Parking Garage - Non-destructive Testing (NDT) Evaluation

Fisher Associates performed impact-echo non-destructive testing on three concrete framing members of the recently reconstructed Green Street Parking Garage in the City of Ithaca, New York. The ramp system consists of a post-tensioned cast-in-place concrete framing system with cast-in-place concrete slabs. It was designed to replace a deficient helical ramp system which was removed as a part of the current construction project. The objective of the testing program is to test the unconsolidated concrete in a portion of the ramp which was found to have honeycombing and exposed reinforcement. A report on testing, which was performed on September 24, 2007, was presented to enable the owner to determine the appropriate course of action for repair of the subject members.
