GIS Analyst Positions Available

Regional multi-disciplinary firm has an immediate opening in Buffalo, NY / Erie, PA for a GIS Analyst. Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS 9.x /10 & understanding of programming languages required. Minimum bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or other degree with extensive GIS coursework required. Salary based on qualifications.

Core Responsibilities:

• Guide GIS Technician on best practices, provide QAQC
• Read and understand engineering sketches, drawings and documents.
• GIS data manipulation, automation, conversion, migration.
• Integrate geospatial data from multiple formats and sources,Client interaction during process and data development.
• Creating Geoprocessing tasks using model builder.
• Development of ESRI-based Python scripts.
• Apply sophisticated geospatial analysis techniques to data sets.
• Provide process oriented approach to project work.

Education/Skills:

BA/BS or MA/MS in GIS, Geography, Computer Science or other program with GIS coursework required
Minimum 4 years with ESRI ArcGIS experience required
Python experience required
ArcPad / Terrasync experience beneficial
GPS data collection experience beneficial
Excellent reading/writing skills required
ArcGIS Server and web application development beneficial
CAD / GPS / GIS interoperability skills beneficial
Survey experience beneficial
Pipeline GIS experience beneficial
Environmental GIS experience beneficial
