Oil & Gas Surveyors

Fisher Associates has multiple openings for Oil & Gas Surveyors / Pipeline Routers to support our growing Energy practice. Candidates must be motivated, self-starters able to work independently on Oil & Gas projects throughout PA, WV, OH, and NY. Experience with both mapping grade and survey grade survey equipment is required.

These positions will require extended periods of travel and attention to detail is a must. Sample field documentation will be requested.

Crew Chief positions require 5+ years of Oil & Gas experience and Crew Member positions require 2+ years experience. Microstation, AutoCAD, Carlson, and/or GIS (ESRI) experience a plus.

Party Chief (Construction Survey)

Fisher Associates has an immediate opening for an experienced Party Chief to support our construction survey practice. Candidates must be motivated and able to work independently supporting our construction clients with survey layout tasks. Documented experience with the traditional and GPS survey equipment for layout duties is a must and the ability to assist Contractors with their machine control systems is a plus.

Open staffing request for a Project Engineer/Inspector for building projects, generally for schools and universities. Duties cover inspection and construction administration responsibilities and include:

  • Construction inspection for compliance with bid documents
  • Reviewing payment applications, material certifications, and change orders
  • Reviewing plans and specifications, reviewing progress of work and preparing daily reports
  • Assisting at meetings, reviewing schedules and coordinating subcontractors
  • Assisting with final inspections, certificate of occupancy, punch list inspections

Environmental Monitor – Buffalo, NY

Fisher Associates is seeking an individual with 1-3 years of environmental field compliance and construction oversight experience, with a focus on monitoring environmental permit conditions and erosion and sediment controls in a construction setting.  Focused experience with energy-related, linear and non-linear projects, particularly with oil and gas and/or electric transmission projects, a plus.

The candidate must have demonstrated experience interacting with construction contractors, clients and regulatory agencies; inspecting and documenting field conditions and identifying items requiring correction; report preparation; and supervision and oversight of field activities. Good interpersonal communication skills a must.  A current OSHA 10 hour course is required or the ability to obtain this training.  OSHA 40 hour course is a plus. 

Candidates should be willing to travel and participate on projects of varying durations located throughout New York and Pennsylvania.  The candidate must have the ability to work long hours in various field conditions.

A minimum of an Associate’s degree in an applicable field such as environmental science/engineering, biology/wetlands science, construction management or related field, is required.

Environmental Technician – Buffalo or Rochester

Fisher Associates is seeking an individual with 2-5 years of technical environmental experience, with a focus on site investigation, remediation, and hazardous materials abatement projects.  Focused experience conducting Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments including site reconnaissance, municipal/historical records and regulatory database review, soil and groundwater sampling and analysis, and report preparation, is required.  Experience with hazardous materials abatement projects, including assessment, contract document preparation, monitoring, reporting and/or handling is a plus.

The candidate must also have demonstrated experience interacting with construction contractors, clients and regulatory agencies and supervision and oversight of field activities. Good interpersonal communication skills a must.  The candidate must have or be willing to obtain OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refresher, and OSHA 10-hour Construction certification.  Asbestos certification(s) for Inspector/Designer/Project Monitor/Air Sampling Technician is a plus. 

Candidates should be willing to travel and participate in projects of varying durations located throughout New York and Pennsylvania.  The candidate must have the ability to work long hours in various field conditions.

Civil Engineer - Canonsburg, PA

Self-motivated, enthusiastic, Civil Engineer needed in Canonsburg, PA (Southpointe) for Energy and/or Land Development projects.  You will have a wide range of work assignments related to site layout, grading, stormwater management, utilities, drainage systems, regulatory permitting issues, etc.  Top candidates will be able to work independently, including in design related software.  You will be working in design teams across offices, with regulatory agencies, clients and the public to maintain favorable working relationships and implement client-focused service measures.

Site / Civil Project Manager

Full time position in our Rochester Office for a site / civil project manager with 7 – 10+ years of land development related experience.  The position requires understanding all aspects of land development projects, specifically: site design (grading, drainage, utilities, etc.); permitting and entitlements, proposals; budgets; coordination/communication with clients and regulatory approving agencies; and providing direction and oversight of internal design staff.  Strong networking and new business development skills required.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • B. S.  in Civil Engineering and 7 – 10+ years of site design and project management experience;
  • New York State Professional Engineering License or ability to obtain NYS license;
  • Integrity, trustworthy, people skills, team spirit and commitment to providing high quality deliverables;
  • Project management experience, including project profit and loss management and personnel management;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
